ARTIST STATEMENT
When one enters the world subject to transaction, exchange, and displacement, the whole degrades to a disjointed and performative negotiation.
Deficient existence depends on a staged, externally authored reality.
Sunk below this theater are remnants longing for cohesion and resurrection in the absence of hope and truth.
The whole of my work has been reconstructed from pieces, with Humpty Dumpty consequences.
The newly forged being is forever altered.
Imperfectly birthed entities of patched paintings, drawings, music, poetry, and prose emerge from this alchemy, surrendering to the saturation of sensory modalities experienced physically.
These acts of feminine punk defiance exist as evidence of the other and a reclamation of the aggrieved; recalibration as remedy.
